Ellesmera is nestled atop the highest area of Kodaikanal (2330 meters ABSL). The compound covers an area of 1.5 acres.
It is tucked away at a dead-end bordered on one side by the forest and the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory's private forest
on the other; despite this glorious seclusion, it is just 3.5 km from the lake, and it has great views of
the surrounding hills and the plains beyond. Ellesmera is a home stay in a large 4 bedroom house, and 3 rooms are currently
being let out as a Bed & Breakfast. Come experience the increasingly rare Kodaikanal of yesteryear.
At Ellesmera, we grow a changing variety of our own vegetables and herbs. Vegetables include
broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, brussels sprout, corn, pea, and butter bean. Some of the herbs we grow are basil, chamomile, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
You can explore the orchard where we grow plums, peaches, pears, apple, strawberry, and passion fruit among other things.
You can unwind at our large verandas, cozy up to the living room fireplace or roll about on our comfy lawn. Right next to all this is our vibrant
garden ablaze with exotic flowers like delphiniums, geraniums, flax, larkspurs, hollyhocks, antirrhinums, and dahlias (to name a few).
